Membership Requirements
Eligibility
To be eligible for membership in the Cross Keys High School Alumni Association Limited (CKHSAAL), individuals must meet the following criteria:

Alumni Status
The applicant must be a graduate or former student of Cross Keys High School, formerly known as Cross Keys Secondary School. Individuals must have spent at least a year at the school and left in good standing. -
Membership Fee
An annual membership fee, currently set at JMD $5,000 is required for admission and renewal. This fee must be paid in full before membership is activated or renewed. -
Compliance with Bylaws
Members must agree to comply with the CKHSAAL bylaws, which govern the operations, responsibilities, and conduct expected within the association. Bylaws are available upon request.
Attendance and Participation in Meetings
Everyone is expected to share their thoughts and ideas and express themselves comfortably within the bounds of the organizations and the meetings’ purpose. Profanity, personal attacks, and otherwise offensive language or conduct is not acceptable. Regular attendance is encouraged by all. Executive members must notify the president or secretary of intended absent. Three or more unexcused absence by any executive member is grounds for termination of position.
Executive Meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month.
General Meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month.

Preparation: Leaders and participant should come prepared with relevant information and materials to be discussed/shared. Executive members should be prepared with information relevant to their portfolios.

Punctuality: Starting and ending meetings on time shows respect for everyone's time. Be punctual.

Respect: Treat everyone with courtesy and professionalism. Listen to each other and respect everyone’s opinion.

Stay on Topic: Follow the agenda and avoid side conversations that are either unrelated or unnecessarily change the direction of the meeting.

Listen: Pay attention to speakers and avoid interrupting. When the speaker is finished, ask for clarification if necessary.

Confidentiality: Information discussed or shared during the meeting should be treated as the business of the organization only. Sensitive or proprietorial information should only be divulged by authorized persons through approved channels. Failure to abide by this term is a breach that can result in loss of membership.
Conduct Within Association Platforms (Including WhatsApp Groups)
Members are expected to uphold the integrity and purpose of the association when engaging on CKHSAAL platforms. This includes:

Sharing content that is relevant, informative, and aligned with the mission of the association.

Avoiding the following:

Spamming or excessive and irrelevant posting.
-
Promotion of divisive partisan political views.
-
Commercial advertising without prior approval from the executive committee.
-
Posting videos or materials unrelated to the association or its members
-

​​Ensuring that posts reflect the purpose of the group, focusing on alumni stories, achievements, school-related news and events, and constructive engagement.

Grounds for Suspension or Revocation of Membership
General membership or executive positions may be revoked in keeping with the CKHSAAL constitution which allows for automatic expulsion or a vote of no-confidence by the executive. Membership can be terminated for the following reasons:

Repeatedly violates the bylaws or group rules.

Engages in behavior that brings the association into disrepute, including defamatory, discriminatory, or abusive language or actions or otherwise hinder the work of the association.

Fails to pay the required membership dues within specified grace period.

Uses association platforms for unauthorized commercial, political purposes, or lewd/offensive material.

Acts in a manner inconsistent with the association's goals of unity, respect, and positive engagement among alumni.
*** Suspension or revocation decisions shall follow due process, including notice of the violation, an opportunity to respond, and a final decision communicated in writing.
